Hi 64G - I can't seem to get anything to play in the new format although it does work on your test example for some strange reason.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm continuing to work on it and hope to solve these problems eventually.

I assume everyone who says it doesn't play is using Internet Explorer 9? I don't currently have that version on any of my computers. I have IE 8 on an old computer and it correctly falls back to the old xspf flash player (IE8 does not support HTML5 audio). Maybe I'll update that browser to IE 9 and see what happens.

I just made a change. Can someone with IE9 tell me if it made any difference?

On IE9 (and Safari 5.1 on Mac), the player is not working for me in the song posts. The player on your test page does work.

I'll check Firefox and Chrome next.

Firefox 15 and Opera 12 reliably fall back to the xspf Flash mp3 player for song posts.

The new HTML 5 audio player is working correctly on Chrome 21 in the song posts.

So it seems right now the problem children are IE9 and Safari 5.1. I'll check Safari 6 momentarily...

Safari 6 works with the new player on song posts.

Here's a screenshot of what I see in IE9 and Safari 5.1:

Thanks for the screenshot. Does it look like that as soon as you load the page, or only after you click Play?

Is it any different now (I made a slight change)?
