I so wanted a Jimi Fest. I'm back in school trying to finish a degree and limited on time but would definitely stay up late to participate if we ever have one.

Remix Fest

Some of us supply the raw files for our songs (i.e. WAV files), and we remix, re-produce, and repurpose them into new versions of the same songs (with some rules that distinguish between a remix and a cover).

How many Hey Joes can you take? Hendrix fest would be fun, but it could also be a bummer. Let's make a fest for Donna Summer (Sorry, lack of sleep...).

Remix Fest is also a good idea.I've been thinking that it would be interesting to have a kind of a base set of chords and stuff from which every songcrafter would do their own song. I'm sure they'd be totally different even if the starting point would be the same.

This one is a little out there but: Audacity Fest

I noticed that the Created using Audacity page on the Audacity Wiki has a lot of dead links. We could link to our jukebox from this page.

The rules could be that the song should be mixed and mastered in Audacity. But for those of us who don't have an audio interface for the computer, the raw tracks could be recorded on another device (e.g. a Micro BR). Any effects not recorded on the raw tracks need to be added in Audacity (from the Effects menu or plugins). Allowed: effects (pedals) in the signal chain prior to the audio interface or device. Not allowed: effects added afterwards in another DAW or on the recording device.

Probably zero votes for this idea.
