Been listening to this guy - Bill Nelson. To my shame I had not heard of him before but I heasd him name dropped on the Steven Wilson podcast. Absolutely excellent, should have been bigger. Gives me Talking heads or 80's King Crimson vibes

I have that record (not quite an album but more than an LP) from back in the day.  It's a great album.

Check out Bill's earlier band, Bebop Delux. Bill is an awesome guitarist. I remember learning his solos note by note forty years ago.

actually... my brother mentioned the movie "homeward bound" in the backyard to me after I put up some Christmas lights.  I immediately started hearing this song in my head... I never listened to these guys enough... my gosh they are amazing... but what really floors me on this track is the drums... to be fair to me... when these songs were on the radio back in the day I was only ever hearing it on crap speakers with no bass etc... so now when I hear these it is like indie.. and the greatness takes off to a whole new height...
hats off to the group and the engineers and producers... this is amazing stuff recording wise.

Fabtastic - never seen the video for this before. Skylarking is such a great album.

Dang, I'm old. 1978 was the year this landed on my (actually, my uncle's) turntable. I only wish I had the guitar skills back then to even attempt learning any of Bill Nelson's guitar solos. Phenomenal player.

I'd never even heard of this band til now, Paul. Checked out some of their songs on YT. Jesus, what an incredible band along with the best rock drummer I think I have ever heard.

This is the first I've heard of Porcupine Tree. They are very talented! The drummer has great control over his kit. I love all those double kicks he used throughout the song. Thanks for posting this up, Paul.
