Sheena is a Punk Rocker by the Ramones 1977.

Dedicated to my late friend Steve, master of the mis-heard lyric, who for nearly 40 years thought the song was called C.I.A. Punk Rocker.

And now Pete C is a Punk Rocker. Working for the C.I.A perhaps? :D

Fabulous cover. So well done and in the spirit of the original. I was slightly worried about what i might be hearing as i've heard so many Ramones cover bands near and far :) But you did it with style.

There are so few ingredients in a song like this that everything counts. There isn't much to hide behind. I liked the fact that you kept the guitar sound closer to the "edge of breakup" -sound rather than using a more overdriven sound. It gives the song some of its character. And the vocals. You managed to get the vibe and sound going so well!

In short. A great tribute to your friend Steve!

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Yes very cool Pete. Real character in this and I am with Zoltan, you got such a lovely tone from the guitar. Proper 70's feel and great vocals too. Not a song I knew but I really enjoyed it. You did your mate proud here.

Hi Pete,
This is the first time I heard this song, and I am so glad to hear this from you.
Lovely singing and guitar playing.
Rest In Peace Steve!!!
Thanks for sharing this beauty!

Loved it, Pete. I believe this may have been the first Ramones song I'd ever heard (back in 77 or 78 - can't remember which year for sure).

You captured it well.

I just left a comment on Mike_S's cover of "Jamming" by Bob Marley, about how my sister would buy albums, make a snap judgement, and then give the ones she didn't like to me. "Rocket to Russia" was another one that ended up on my hands.

This fest is really taking me down Memory Lane – with a dose of gratitude to my sister for keeping her pop records and giving me the out-of-the-mainstream stuff. I loved your version – and it was serendipitously placed in the jukebox next to "Jamming."

you can call me anything you like.  Just don't call me late for dinner

I totally love your guitar work here Pete. It has a UK punk '77 feel, like as if TV Personalities had done it.  Would have been so easy to kill it with overdrive.

Most enjoyable
