Ok so i got drunk last night, and stepped out of my comfort zone , with just
letting my korg do the singing . what id did  here , was to do a narrative style
to the poem i wrote severeral years ago , based on a true experience with
divine intervention . first feeble attempt at trying any form of singing . on
other sites they said i have a good voice. still hard to beleive, as u can see
i dont have much condidence when it come s to singing or narration style.
hope u like it i also composed the music for th e poem take care NEIIL

AFTER OVER A YEAR with muziboo. and all the
inspiration here , and in my life, GOD finally
and the angles. gave me the stregnth to preform
this song in all way s. and my first time on
vocals...so dont be to harsh on me. lo.........

In the 60 s several artist s like lorene green
a famous actor re BONANZA tv show. did a
song called RINGO . and this is what i was
trying to attempt his style. actually i started
dong this with ESTHER in mind doing vocals.
but i said what the heck . i will try ...

Thought this would suprise you as it did me
as i have no confidence in singing at all
this is the nearest to singing i can get
for now.hope u like it , it s abased on a
true story . that an angel did come to me
several years ago . for healing in our bedroom
AWESOME ESPERIENCE.

Below are some of the lryics fromt the poem
i wrote...

AN angel came to me just 4 years ago
the light so bright . like a neon light
a gentle breeze so it flowed
comfortimg me from head to toe.

Silver wings on each side of her.
the halo glowed thats for sure
Colors lit the entire room
as a rainbow i knew it was soon

The angel spoke the words of love
that i knew from heaven above
Colors lit the entire room
she spoke the words of love
from heaven above.

AS quick she came the lights did leave
i knew they had come just for me.
as so the story always goes
and i knew the be back soon ...AMEN

PS. this poem has been copyrighted library
of congress and also publishe in the world
book of poetry about five years ago.THANKS.!

I really liked this one Neil - Thought you did a great job! Sometimes it's nice to get into rare form and make some music - Glad you did it!

This has a nice comforting feel to it.

Neil, I enjoyed this a lot and well done to you for having a go at vocals. I'm not at all religious and I often find religious songs can be a bit corny or preachy, but this works very well. The poem is great, your own emotion comes across nicely in the words and you don't overdo it. The music works well, it's a nice dreamy piece that creates the right mood for what you are speaking. The drum part is nice, the sparse snare beats work very well.

I'd say keep going with the vocals. This style can work well and you did great with this. I think you could even loosen up a bit more, sometimes you cut the words off a little quick (that's just a bit of lack of confidence), just let those emotions flow a bit more into the performance. But well done again. It takes a lot to step outside of the comfort zone to try some vox!

Cheers,

Nigel

Hi Neil, this piece of misic I found strangely comforting, perhaps the lyrical content perhaps the keyboards, who knows. Very soothing.................Willie

Again i appreciate the encouragement.. and acutally i have not a very expensive
mic just a basic dynamic microphone. but thought it worked ok on this. not sure
if good for more singing will . try . i do have a mixer with the mic . and ideas
on a good basic mic for under 100 dollars would b appreciated. who may comment
further on this. ?  I DO thes recordings when my wife is away baby sitting an
on thursday she will b gone. she liked this, but i guess until my confidence
grows like playing the korg synth time will improve.again thanks for a great site
and interaction . take care NEIL

Neil, I don't know anything about mikes I am afraid, I just use the onboard MBR one, so I can't really help there. What you might want to do is to experiment with some mixing techniques and effects. Some carefully applied compression and reverb can often help add a bit more body to a vocal, but be careful not to overdo it. One trick is to take a copy of the vocal track and then apply very high ratio copmpression and EQ it so it is very bright, and then mix it with the original clean vocal so that it gives a bit more definition.

Like you, whenever I do vox I cannot have anyone around. I go an d sit in the car in the garage with alll the doors closed so no-one can see or hear me!

Anyway, keep experimenting and find what works for you.

Cheers,

Nigel

Hi there
tHANKS so much for the valuable feed back  and glad u agree with the
singing all by myself . as ERIC CARMEN once sang..lo.!  i wil take
your valuable feed back and try to appy and learn . i like the idea
about the eq compression. again thanks and i know what u mean
to much reverb per example can ruin a song . and othe effects
thanks T C NEIL
