Congrats on your vocals, Neil - it's always great to try new things. You did a fine job here.

For inexpensive microphones, you may want to check out the MXL line - they make inexpensive, but good-sound condenser mikes starting around $70 or so. Like others here though, I'm using my Micro BR built-in mike almost exclusively - it's surprisingly good, too.
