guitar volume too low

I just got my Micro BR and I can barely hear any sound through my earphones. The volume is up so I'm guessing it's because they have resistors? Maybe because they're ipod earphones and not in the best condition either. I ordered some Sony headphones so I hope they will work alright.

Check both the input and output level wheels on the MBR, at the left and right ends of the unit. I have used pod earpieces and had volume ok, but yeah  ... get a half decent pair of cans, much better!

I tried both the input and output dials, but there wasn't any difference. Maybe it's just the earphones.

Also try the sensitivity level, in addition to the dial. When you press "Input" you should see a display that says 0db IIRC (don't have the MBR in front of me). This is the Sensitivity, which varies the dynamic range of your input signal that goes into the recorder. You can inrease or decrease this by pressing the +/- buttons. By pressing the + key this will make the input signal louder.

I find with my guitars I don't need to do this. However, it will depend on the output of your guitar pickups.

You don't say if the guitar is plugged in or if you're using the built-in mic. If you're using the mic and don't have cans it may be difficult to hear if the mic is too far away from the guitar. Be sure to chose the right input source too (MIC or GTR)

The guitar is plugged in to the BR. It sounds a little bit louder with different effects, and I made sure the sensitivity levels were up. I'll see how it works with some new headphones soon.

so it's plugged into the GTR insert, and you have GTR selected as your input, yes? make sure the guitar volume is up, master volume wheel on the left, input volume on the right, Sensitivity setting as needed, Track Level set (defaults at 100), Master Level is set...

as you can see, it can be lots of things. the default settings should have you up and running with no issues assuming you have Guitar selected as your input, or MIC.

If you have suitable (Jack) adaptors you can plug it into an amp.

Just set the volume and input volume to 100 and your ipod ear phones should give you plenty of sound!

You could also put a pedal that has volume in line .
