Unsupported format prob!!

I've got a problem. I put a backer that Mike(48) sent me into the BR, and when I tried to Import, it said 'Unsupported Format'. This backer is definitely MP3, it plays on the laptop fine, Mike checked and it goes onto his machine fine.
This is the only one I've had any problem with, I've initiallised the card, even tried a new card, still nothing ???
In the end I've taken it directly into 'line in', so at least I can use it ( it's lesson number 5, can't miss that!!!!!).

Anyone got any ideas??????? Please??? It's really bugging me.

"Bm Slow Ballad"???

Yeah, I had the same problem, I just resolved to recording via the line in...Mike tried reducing the file size a couple of times, but it still read "unsupported format" each time...line in was my only way around it.

I did some searching of the forum and found it had something to do with the "sample rate"...I kinda understand bit rate, but sample rate I know nothing. I wouldnt even know how to go about changing it *shrug*

StevieM

Nope, not Bm slow, that was fine. It's the latest one 'A drive blues'.
If that's the prob I might be able to change it on Audacity, just got to install that on the laptop ( can hardly get on the pc lately  :().
There's another programe I've got that I've never used yet, might try that one too.
Cheers.

I was like you and wanted to post a topic to figure out what was going on...but did a search, but now Im still left wondering/curious as to why this happens and how to remedy it.
Im sure its something simple.

I had a similar problem a while back but that was with WMA files...these are clearly MP3s.

Yeah, I keep checking my inbox...but nothin *shrug*
I was gonna do one of those blues backer challenges...but I feel stuck in a rut since my last lesson, so Im hoping this one will give me a boost.

Hey guys I have had the same problem, not with any of 48's stuff but a few others.  I didn't know how to get around it. It downloaded some sound effects and get the same message was going to use them in a song. I gave up on the idea.  And then I just got that d***  drive busy******* going on at times. And with only 4 tracks, I don't know how these guys get so many tracks going and don't have that happen.  Anyway you aren't alone.  BUT I still love my BR

Why don't you use Audacity or Switch or some similar program to convert the problem MP3 to WAV format, then import the WAV file into the BR.

I dont do that because I dont "own" a computer currently...and am too cautious to do so on my roommates computer or even my work computer.
Thats why Im interested in the "why?" this happens.

I will try that 64.  guess I will have to download one of those programs.
Thanks
