Hello,

I have run into a problem with baking tracks where they will not play on the BR.  I use Audacity to change the bitrate to 192K, works every time.

When you rip from Windows Media Player you have options of which bitrate to use...it doesnt seem to be the issue as we played with the bitrate.
So after some research Im finding it pertains to sample rate...but Im trying to understand what determines sample rate and where to make adjustments?

StevieM

Just got to find the time to dig audacity out and install it, then I'll have a play around.
I always say, if I can leave somebody happy and smiling at the end of the day-----I've completely f*cked up!!

The sample rate of any file to be imported into the BR must be 44.1 kHz.

Okay, now what determines sample rate?
Where can I make this adjustment?
On Windows Media Player, I only have adjustable bit rate that I can see as an option...so if Im ripping an MP3 where is this(sample rate) setting???
Im probably missing something really obvious.  ???

It's a parameter in whatever software created the MP3.

I don't use Windows Media Player (I don't even use Windows since I upgraded to ubuntu). Try Googling "Windows Media Player" "sample rate".

In Audacity 1.3.7, the sample rate of the current project is shown in the Selection Toolbar at the bottom of the window and can be easily changed with a mouse click.

You can change the default sample rate for new projects in Preferences/Quality.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will look into that and report my findings.

You know, I dont proclaim to know any of this stuff, Im not a computer guy, I dont even own a computer...I just did a search with the suggestions above, and I gotta say...I dont understand this "Tron" crap...but Im trying.
I found this article...I read what I could understand(not much), but then I realized...I dont have any problems with the MP3's I rip on Windows Media Player...I have problems with the lesson MP3's Mike(48) sends me...the same problem SteveM and Wiley have had.
Your remedy is for us all to download Audacity or similar...and I get it, its going to be a necessary tool for us to learn and use.
As Ive stated in the past, Im in the market for a new computer...but am currently waiting Windows7(or whatever) as well as some additional surplus income to afford it...so, Im sorry your fix isnt really an option for me now.
At first I wasnt in a a hurry to learn what exactly caused this error, but it wasnt without trying...but now with this topic, my interest is peeked and want to learn more bout whats happening.
So its not just for me, its for Wiley, SteveM and 48...as its 48s computer these files are coming from, and Id imagine this is gonna be a reoccurring theme for him if one of us doesnt try and understand whats going on here.(maybe hes using ITunes???)

BTW, sorry the simple answer doesnt always work for me, I must be daft.

Please post the problem MP3 here so we can determine why it's unsupported.

This was the file I received last week when I got the error....but they say theirs was fine with that lesson, but now they are having that error with a different one.

This was the one I had issue with:
[edit]Im assuming i have to post it in the MP3 section or Collaborations section, right?
So I should start a topic in the collabs section???
