I've been busy with work the last few weeks, and with developing my homebrew mixing/mastering software.  But took a break from that to record this in 6 Tracks:

- 2 Fender Mustang guitar tracks (panned L/R) thru Amplitube 4 default free tube amp
- Fender Mustang Bass thru Amplitube 4 free "Bass 1" amp (follows a TAB I found online!)
- Knee slaps recorded in stereo with Zoom R24 mics
- Keys - "CelestaE" patch on Casio CT-X3000 (worked out a part vaguely like the original; I'm not a piano player...)
- Vox - AT4040 mic into Zoom R24

Mixed and mastered with my homemade mixing mastering software, which now has the form of a general purpose 16 track mixer with a user interface that looks like this:

Excellent Buddy Holly cover, des! Great work on the vocals, knee slaps, and the celesta - they all sound period-authentic to me.

Rock on!

Buddy Holly is part of my rock trilogy when I was a teenager (Buddy Holly Eddie Cochran Gene Vincent...)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

A really pleasant listen. A little before my time but I do know the song and this is a very nice version. Love the rhythm guitar and the celeste and a great vocal perfomance.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Greeny

So lovely. Completely captures the charm of the original, and it's a very fine performance. The mix sounds perfect! What a songwriter he was.

Great job Des. Hats off to you and your home mixing software, impressive. Buddy Holly is one of my mothers favourites... great job on the vocals and guitars too.

Classic song, your voice does Buddy Holly so well and the keys sound so great here. Your code is once again showing off great mixing and mastering.

Love the percussion. What a knee slapper. Your program sound as though it's mixing quite well. Nice job
