Um.

Here's a cover of the Kris Kristofferson song Help Me Make It Through The Night for the Country fest.  It's a fairly straightforward cover - Guitar, bass, drums, a little keyboard motif in the middle and aliens and robots.  Whereas my last song took weeks of obsessing over, this was a real two hour blast.

It's fair to say that if i listed all of the musical genres i know then ranked them by order of engagement, Country would be at or near the far end.  My cover - whilst (I think) respectful of the original - is done in a style more befitting of a gentleman of my ageing years.

Anyway

Enjoy

Me too - great version, Nick! Love the vocals and the guitars - Kris Kristofferson hangs with The Ramones.

Thinking back it's kind of weird how many Seventies hits were Country crossovers. Hmm, I may mine some of that territory...

Love the sound of that croon over some thrash. It treads a very cool line between 'faithful' and 'barking mad', lol. I like barking mad though. Some great guitar and drum action here. And that snappy ending is perfect. Great stuff!

I'm with you on country I am afraid Nick. So King Kurt does country is the right approach for me  ;D I loved this, the break in the middle is brilliant and the it all sounds great, really punchy. Loved the croon over the top as well, totally brilliant!

Absolutely love this.
I was never a huge fan of country music either , until Blooby introduced me to Daryl Scott on the "what are you listening to right now" thread. That has taken me to places I never expected.
But country punk works well fore too.

That bit of electronic / techno in the middle was a real surprise, as I was lulled into feeling the punky style would carry through the whole tune, so that was totally cool. Yes you put this old country tune through the hardcore filter, very refreshing.

I'm late to the party here but I am glad that I made it... reminds me a tad bit of Hook singing..  coolness personified...this must have been a bit of work...
