A song I want to record on the BR-600 has parts that are played at different tempos - is it possible to do this with the BR-600? I've had the device for ages but barely used it so every time I do use it I have to get the manual out and it's tedious and slow trying to do anything on it but I've never really clicked with the machine TBH. Every time I do use it I hope it will all start to come naturally but it never has done.

Here's a section of the song from a demo not recorded on the BR - it shows the 3 tempos

Tempo I: Intro - tapping drum beat is just me banging on the guitar - the first tempo end after the line "... did you want to go"
Tempo II: short instrumental only break
Tempo III: main verse - "Standing on the shore line..."

There is no way these tempos can be the same.

I gave up using the device part way through a song several years ago because I wanted a bit of an extra gap at one point in the song before a drum pattern came back in - it would only have been a fraction of a second but I couldn't figure out what to do - you can hear the problem here:-

at 52s after the line "It was simplicity" - the drums come back in a fraction of a second sooner than I want.

Yes. Each step of a song arrangement has its own independent tempo setting.

You can learn more about song arrangements here:

and here:

And the Roland BR-600 Workshop booklet "Using the Built-in Rhythm" might help too.

You might want to consider buying the BR-600 DVD manual.

Well that's good news and encouraging for me - I've been putting off trying to record anything properly for a long time. Thanks for the reply and the links - I hope I can figure it out but at least someone has told me I can do what I wanted to be able to do.
