64 makes some good points & he's definitely given me the kick up the backside I needed to get involved in the current fests.

Me too, actually.  I had a listen to a bunch of Kinks tunes on YouTube after seeing 64's post and there's a lot of good stuff.  I've got one I want to work on.  I tend to go for more obscure tracks for the fests.

i've been in a deep depression since brexit, it has affected my abilities to write play.......everything

as a result i have not been here as much, usually i am on political sites being depressed even further by the lack of empathy shown by my fellow beans.

the thing is i usually write like fuck when i am down, when i am a happy bunny writers block ambushes me, but this is all new to me.

however i just heard bojo is our new foreign minister (now there's a play on words) so if you don't get some songs i might just write a novel.

anyroads up i'm off on holiday here's hoping the former yugoslavia has wi-fi.

I feel the same, James. Bewildered, angry and thoroughly depressed. I'd normally get some good songwriting mileage out of that, but I just feel numb. Plus a real worry for my job, which is reliant on European marketing and advertising deals.

And now people like Boris Johnson and Liam Fox are in prominent positions, I just want to denounce my citizenship and leave this crappy island forever.

I'm trying to forget about it all on holiday, but it's hard. I hope you do better.

Moved to add my bit:-

No creative space is hampering me, making time to make the creative space is frustrating me, not making the creative space is just a metaphor for lost mojo; and gigging and rehearsing is like the methadone to my music addiction, it's almost good enough...

I like this site, I like the people here, I like what is done here. It comes and goes, sometimes it's full of really good stuff and then there are lean periods too. It's a mirror on the (mostly western) world at large.

Allegorical, that's what this place is.

I listen and comment most days but its been about 6 weeks since I picked up a guitar or played the Keyboard,
I have 6 beautiful guitars on the wall but just no interest to play them,
For as long as I can remember I have been up at around 5am a cup of coffee then my guitar gets a bashing,
Hopefully this will pass...

I am currently in Montenegro got my micro Br, nanokey, flash harry's kaosilator and laptop with me. Just been for a swim in the sea and met some lovely naked Czechs who taught me some helpful phrases. Gotta be a song in that
