Have you ever ?

Have you ever tried to write lyrics so nothing will rhyme
It's not that easy -
You automatically will find a word that finishes off the line or chorus in rhyme

" Johnny walked out the door
Swore he would come back no............
time in the future"
Just asking like

Yes, I have, and I decided that it's most unhealthy to attempt non-rhyming lyrics (or even poetry!)

By the way - you've already got a bit of an internal rhyme going on there ... door/swore

How about almost no rhymes but no chorus? Here's one I quickly jotted down but a few rhymes snuck in...so yes, for me, is is difficult to keep the rhymes out.

When In Rome

I'm sittin in Rome,  
Missed my train
Feelin' abandoned
Longing for home

Not another
'til four more hours
So here I sit
On my suitcase tower

Watchin' people rush by
I don't understand a word
Maybe a capachino  
Would help pass the time

So many people in a hurry
Almost got pick pocketed
But for a watchfull eye
Not much in my wallet anyway

My only friend a pigeon
Looking for a hand out
As the other lost souls
Try to read the schedules

I don't know if this trip
Will turn out good or bad
It's the steps I need to take
To erase the memory of her

I guess if I wasn't here
I'd still be somewhere else
But that's neither here nor there
Right now I'm going no where

Waitin' for the next train
To take me down the tracks
To pull me away from the pain
That's turned my heart black

I have a rhyming dictionary, which can be useful - as it gives words that you wouldn't necessarily think off. That said, I hardly ever write lyrics :-)
