done in the car with my new Cuban Tres. I had never seen nor heard of this instrument before seeing it in a pawn shop a few days ago at a pawn shop. I had to have it! It's 6 string, tuned in pairs, G (octave) C (unison) E (unison but I think it can/should be an octave). I have no idea at all what I'm doing but I love it. The size is perfect for the car and hopefully the electronics work. I can't wait to put some phaser and flange on it!
Rest
written & performed by Hook
Is it all a game
do I want to play
can I find my way within your rules
Here we are again
always on the fence
i'm so very tense
I need to

Rest
I want to close my eyes
lose myself within a dream
Maybe I'll remember it tonight

Can I play pretend
Trying to defend
actions I might find
unkind
Looking through the glass
learning from the past
trying not to cross
the same lines and just

Will I spend the time
make up my stupid mind
finally set in motion my
master plan to get some

Fabulous sound and a great song too Hook !!

You do NOT need any phaser or flanger on this one. The natural chorus you get from the paired strings are stunning !

And the recording is stellar !!! Is that with the new condenser ?

I am loving the sound from this, and unless I'm way off base, it has pushed you into a new area (A Hookless area?). The main riff sounds new to me.

I echo Geir. Really nice recording on this one.

Are you fishing for chords or did you find/make a chord charts?

Very cool.

Thanks for the kind words my friends.

Nope, just the built in stereo mics on the 008 sitting on the passenger seat like all my litlr recordings. i was surprised at how over powering the Tres was vs my vocal. Haven't worked out a mic clip/ stand for the car yet

Just fishing right now. That riff just caught my ear and the shapes just found my fingers. I couldn't find a book available for the Tres, but I did order some strings and a Cuatro book. There are some chord charts for Tres on google images that I'm going to print off today. Nothing like new instruments to get the juices flowing.
Rock on!

I'm liking the new direction this Cuban Tres (never heard of or seen one) is taking you hook! This good recording and performance sounds very relaxed without being forced at all. The song has a drawing in appeal and the Tres (or seis) stings ring out like choir bells....a good purchase, I want to hear some more!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Oh, it sounds great. Good find. I want one. I agree though that it doesn't need a phaser or anything. Sounds great as-is.

I can hear your excitement of playing it in the song, too. Nice lyric.

After a cuatro and a tres, what's next? A Panamanian dos?
