Another GYAWS prompt "color" and I have spent entirely too much time on this. Can't get drums to work, so Sans Drums.

Watching through this window pane
Counting every drop of rain
Wishing I could see the sun again

As I stare the color fades
Lost in shadow, lost in the gray
Wishing I could see you once again

I turn to look but you have gone away
You're fading into gray
Color has gone away

How can I dream in color without you?
The whole world drained of every tint or hue?
How can I dream in color without you?
Without you

Still the rain is falling down
As the darkness muffles the sound
Here I sit and think of you again

Staring through the shade of night
Memories of you fading from sight
Wishing I could be with you again

I turn to look but you have gone away
You're fading into gray
Color has gone away

How can I dream in color without you?
The whole world drained of every tint or hue?
How can I dream in color without you?
Without you

Hi TC - oh I liked it, particularly the chorus. I could hear harmonies all the way through and maybe a shaker.

How can I dream in colour without you - fabulous!

TC ....glad you didn't get the drums to work.....love this, the song as a song is brilliant but it also works just lyrically....got to me.....a great song dosnt only resonate with the person writing, I understood the words....it means something for me ...guess it will connect with more than a few people on the forum

Hi TC.  im on ipad at the moment so not sure how to navigate the site......just read your comment...no need to be sorry, its a powerful song....I think I misinterpreted it, listened again and read the words...and now know why it affected me so deeply...

What a beautiful song! Who needs drums? This sounds complete and "finished" without anything else :)

Excellent song, and the chorus in particular is very memorable and rousing.

I don't think the omission of drums has taken anything away from this at all, in fact the more I listen to it the more I am convinced that this works better without them as it draws your attention to the essence of the song and highlights the really strong vocal and guitar melodies.

Top drawer this!

I can hear pedal steel guitar sliding along over this one, that would sound nice......I like the nice strummy acoustic guitar to fill it all in and give some feeling of percussion.  Its one of those kind of songs that don't need too much.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Man, this is great. I didn't miss the drums at all, and that chorus is really a knock out. Again, loving the mix of acoustics and electric…so damn good. Nice one, TC!

What a great melody; a bit melanchol, beautiful and catchy! Excellent lyric. Really fine job!
