Using Micro BR as Mixer

Hi all,

i'm looking for some advice about this (stupid?) idea..
I'll go to visit some friends just married and there will be a small party and I'd like to sing 3/4 songs as a small gift with my guitar but for some reason i need to use a very easy set, just sit down and play for a while...

I'm trying this: MicroBr + (ugly)small amplifier.
My goal is not to have a good sound, but to have some kind of amplification...

It seems possible  using the double option  MIC+GUITAR input on tracks 1-2, so i can sing (in the built-in mic) and play together with a jack cable on the guitar - in: the only problem here is that I have to keep the BR really near to my mouth and, however, i have a bad feedback whistle sound.

Best option would be to use a stereo microfone in the EXT input, but doing so i have 2 tracks busy for the stereo INPUT and no way to use GUITAR + MICROFONE together...
... any suggestions please??

Thank you  :)

Will you be using an acoustic guitar or an electric?

What sort of amplifier do you have? Is it a guitar amplifier? Does it have more than one input channel? Does it have an Aux or Line input?

Acoustic electrified guitar!

It's a small CRATE amplifier (could be 15W) for electric guitar with 1 input channel.. i need to check for other inputs (quite sure about an insert channel)

Yesterday i tried the configuration with build-in mic and guitar on the same track with MIC+GUIT input and
-seems ok, no wonderful sound but paying attention to volume no feedback sound
- i can also record track while i play
- the MicroBr is the best thing i ever bought :D

The Guitar input can only be combined with the internal mics. If you want to use the external mic input, you won't be able to use the guitar input. However, since your guitar is acoustic, you could use a microphone instead of the guitar pickup.  You can connect two microphones to the Ext Mic input by using a Y-adapter cable, with one mic on the guitar and the other for vocals. This would be better than using a stereo mic since you could sing directly into one mic and locate the other in front of your guitar. Also, the vocals would go to one channel and the guitar to the other, so you could record them on separate tracks.

Something like this would allow you to connect two dynamic mics:

The guitar input of the amplifier is mono, so you should also have an adapter cable to connect the BR's stereo Line Out to the amplifier. See this topic.

If the amp has a separate Gain control, keep it low to avoid distortion and turn up the Master Volume instead.
