I want to connect the MBR original to an amp. I have a jack adapter 3.5 mm female to 1/4 inch male, so if I buy this lead http://www.amazon.co.uk/3-5mm-stereo-jack-lead-1-2m/dp/B002KGD572/ref=pd_sim_kh1 will it work. I have someone coming around and wanted to play the drum patterns as a backing through one channel of the amp and guitar through the other. I am asking, just to make sure....

The BR's drums are stereo and the Line Out jack is stereo, but the input of a typical guitar amp is mono. So you need an adapter cable that goes from a stereo mini plug to a standard 1/4" mono plug. This will combine the left and right channels of the Line Out into a single channel that you can play through your guitar amp. However, the impedance and input sensitivity of a guitar amp isn't ideal for line level signals, so start with the amp's volume turned all the way down then turn it up gradually. Some newer amps have an Aux In for connecting your MP3 player, CD, etc. If your amp has that, it would be a much better input to use for your BR. The impedance and level are right for the BR and it's usually a stereo input so you can use a straight stereo-to-stereo cable like the one you were looking at.

If you don't have an Aux/CD input, then you could get an adapter like this and use a standard guitar cord to connect it to your amp.

However, I wouldn't recommend that type of adapter because the weight of the guitar cord puts too much strain on the tiny Line Out jack in the BR and can break it. You'd be better off with an adapter cable with a stereo mini plug on one end and a 1/4" plug or jack on the other. Because the cable is flexible, it puts less strain on the BR's Line Out jack.

The Monster adapter cable in the links above is an 18" cable with a 1/4" jack to which you can connect a standard guitar cable. If you can find an adapter cable that ends in a 1/4" mono plug rather than a jack, then you can plug it straight into your amp without the need of a guitar cable.

Perhaps better still would be to use the stereo-to-stereo cable you suggested with one of these adapters going into the guitar amp:

The stereo-to-stereo cable wouldn't put any undue strain on the BR's Line Out jack, and the adapter would convert the cable to a 1/4" mono plug for your guitar amp.

Cheers 64. I have got one of these lying around

So I should be ok, I have enough problems with leads at gigs to scare me to death,
so I just needed to be sure, as this little device is somewhat more fragile than
industrial gigging equipment.
