WARNING - A problem with iPods

If you're an iPod owner, have you run into this problem yet?

After two years of good use my iPod Touch suddenly started truncating MP3 files I'd installed on it using iTunes.
All songs had as much as the first ten seconds missing and others had some of the missing sections inserted
into the middle of them. All of my music was ruined.

I tried reinstalling the OS twice, to no avail. The problem persists. Seems like iTunes is the culprit.

After several Internet searches I found that this is a rapidly spreading problem for Windows and Apple Mac users.
It is not platform specific.

Many people commented that they contacted Apple about the problem and asked about a fix.
Apple's only response was, "If you didn't buy your music from us, we will not help you"

An ever-expanding number of Apple's customers are now feeling the love. They now own the world's most expensive paperweight.

All this leads me to believe this is not a glitch. I think Apple has done this deliberately, to drive people
to buy their music only from their store.

This does not take into account musicians like us that create our own music and would like to be able to put
it on an iPod with an expectation of it playing properly.

This is my first, and last iPod. It was a Christmas gift from my wife. I would not consider buying any Apple products in the foreseeable future. I do not recommend buying these products until a permanent fix is found
and implemented to help out the people that have already had their iPods trashed by this problem.

I don't know if this is also a problem on the iPads. Worth looking into first if you're thinking about buying one.

The real deal breaker for me is the fact that none of the iPod/iPad series has the ability to stream music or
video from the Internet. Steve Jobs' flimsy excuse was that Flash Player is not secure enough.

A fabulous load of bullshit from the master bullshitter. The player would have been embedded into the OS and that is loaded into protected ROM on boot-up and there is no way a virus or malware could affect it there.
Unless it was installed at the manufacturing facility, after being made a part of the OS.

You be the judge. And keep your money in your bank account, not Apple's.

Oh, that's a worry.

My PiePod is a significant part of my life. I must listen at least 4 hours a day. I ride home on my bike with my Pod plugged into my head, it makes that uphill grind pass less painfully. If I was to loose part of my music because of this I would be distraught!

I know just what you mean, Flash.
Music always travels with me when I leave home. My solution was to scrap the iPod and put my music
back onto the MP3 player that has been working fine for many years. And it cost less than thirty dollars.

I am not a fan of the iTunes interface, but over the years I have had 6 apple products (an earlier iPod and iPhone I bought while the rest are gifts or work-related).  They are all issue free at this time.

By the by, I stream music on the iPad and iPhone daily, but not all streaming links seem to work.

Oddly, I usually grab a 1 gig Sandisk player I have had he longest when I want to listen.

I feel the same way about iTunes. Not the most user-friendly software I've ever used.
Not even in the top 50.

I got two years of use from my iPod Touch before it went crazy.
Too expensive to take a chance on buying another one only to see the same thing happen again.

If this disaster continues to spread, I foresee Apple's stock taking a serious hit.

I did the same thing. Retired the mentally challenged iPod and went back to my MP3 player.
I've never had a problem with it.

ORH, Mrs Demon expressed a slight interest (By Royal Command of The Queen) in owning an iPad.
I got one for her. She uses it mostly to check email and as a book reader. I still prefer paperbacks.
I cannot fit an iPad in my coat pocket, and books don't need recharging.
