I agree, can't stand apple products,
They usually work so long as you only want to do what apple deems appropriate for people to do, and cost way more than they are worth.

Me, I use an old mp3 player or my android phone (currently 48Gb expandable with micro sdhc cards).
And store most of my "library" on a usb stick for transport,

Interestingly the little jvc stereo (120$cdn) I bought to replace the damaged one in my travel trailer has a USB port.
So it is plug and play now no more need to card CD's along.

Peter, I doubt very much that an iPad will ever be able to manipulate music as well as can be done using Adobe Audition  or Audacity on a computer.  I don't see it replacing high quality editing software. Not nearly enough CPU/GPU processing power. Even a single core CPU chokes occasionally.

I recently upgraded my PC from a single core system to an Intel i7 quad core cpu at 3.2 ghz, 12 gigabytes of memory, upgradable to 24 gigabytes if needed, a one terabyte Sata drive, an Asus PST WS Pro motherboard, an ATI HD 5700 video card, a Soundblaster X-fi sound card and a 1,000 watt power supply to keep all the twinkling lights on.

Asus recommended a 600 watt power supply as the minimum required for this board so I figured more is better.
This machine handles everything I've thrown at it without a hiccup.

Blooby, have you tried streaming any music from this site?

My iPod would not do it. Without Flash Player onboard it doesn't even show the site player, or the desired song.

Now that's serious DRM when I can't even stream my own music. The RIAA must be pleased.
I can die happy now that Apple has just saved me from myself.

Events like this are the reason there are laws against beating the crap out of people, otherwise I would
make it a life mission to find Steve Jobs and put a size twelve boot so far up his ass, he'd need dental surgery
to remove it. Just want to show my appreciation, in a positive way.

Another drawback to apples iProducts came up in the Fender forums.
The mobile safari used in the iProducts does not support silverlight.

Silverlight is what the Fender FUSE application is written in, so you cannot use a iProduct to handle a Fender Mustang or gDec amp through FUSE.

Side note Fender FUSE also seems to crash a lot under the new mac Lion OS, as apparently so does netflix (which uses silverlight).

The players won't work, but clicking on the mp3 attachment will.

By the way, good vibes my way as I am typing from an emergency room.  They are going to put me out to shove a scope down my esophagus in a few minutes.

If I die, it will have been without ever owning a Mosrite doubleneck.  A pity.
