Howdy folk, this is one to sing bleary-eyed thinking of the eternal tribulation between parent and child; old and new.

Let me know what you think

Recorded the guitar and vocals with StephenM!

Excellent song, although I am not familiar with this song!
I love your version, guitar is so nice, and vocals so good!
Thanks for sharing this beauty.

When I first heard you sing this I like Blues thought of an Irish folk tune...
I really like Gordon Lightfoot but I admit my knowledge of his catalog is limited to only what was on the radio.  Having said that I generally hear some of his music every month on my playlist.

the backing vocals seemed to come out of nowhere on this...

your playing is good and your singing fits this perfect...

looking forward to hearing many many hours of your music.. you got something good inside.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

You have a great voice - so rich and characterful, which is perfect for this. The fingerstyle playing and recording tone / clarity is amazing. Really wonderful stuff.

Well, this is a total discovery! I didn't know Gordon Lightfoot and so out of curiosity I listened to the original of this song that I didn't know either (you did it very well with a finguer picking and an excellent guitar sound))

..and so I learned that Gordon Lightfoot was Canadian, from Ontario and that he is now 84 years old ...long may you run

and I also learned (from wiki) that he had a tumultuous life, with many health problems and that he had collaborated with another Canadian ..Neil Young

..and that he composed a song that I love (..and that I'll probably do on the cover) "in the early morning rain".

Merci pour cette belle reprise Dumont et pour ce rafraichissant picking ;)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
