It's okay, this isn't a trashy punk cover or anything.

This is a song I've known and loved for 50 years and it's an emotional subject so I've been respectful to it.

It's a fairly naked cover - acoustic guitar (Ibanez, capo up on the seventh fret), bass (Squier), vocals and GB percussion. Doesn't leave any place to hide for the vocals unfortunately.
Overdrive - Distortion - Hyperactivity

Wow, this is powerfully put together brother. It's tender and sincere and so close its like being in the room with my earbuds plugged into your output. Love it.
Rock on!

tender and sincere indeed.... the vocals actually make this real...real...real...good.  and i like the backing vocals.
These wonderful sappy Bread songs of the 70s will never come back again...people can't love or express it like that anymore.
I have been listening to a very very oldie station like playing stuff from the 50's and 60's and I see how music like his arrived...

still though i would pay a bit to hear a rocked out version of this... it could be done respectful..

You shouldn't even think along those lines. Shame on you!
Your vocals are lovely! Like Stephen said. They make this real.

Great cover! Not a single note wasted.

Thanks for your comments everyone but I'm not happy with this mix and am working on a new version. The backer is fine but the vocals need work.

I'll just say I'm happy the fest was extended! What a gem of a cover, it's just perfect this 'naked' way

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Lovely playing Nick and there's no need to feel your vocals should be hidden...they're part of the charm of this song..like they're from the heart.

Hi, nice acoustic interpretation and great song choice!  I had posted a cover of this recently but relied on programmed bass and piano parts combined with my simple guitar strums and singing:

I like your stripped down instrumentation and your guitar picking skills.  I think we both played it with D chord shapes (is that right?) but I figured out I could sing it high with capo on 5th fret, if I recall correctly (4th is easier in retrospect!). I don't know if I could possibly sing high with capo on the 7th.  Since I practiced singing this song a lot I would be interested for my own fun to see if I can sing over your track; probably I will have to also sing lower. But it would be fun to try. No worries if you don't want to share it. I enjoyed listening to your version!
