So ... I was originally going to do this as a psyc version, but 2regs beat me to it ::) So this is reeeaaaly stripped down.
It is recorded more or less the same way as Ain't no sunshine (https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=30239.0).
Just my voice and guitar ... recorded live in the living room ... with a storm outside ....
Recorded on the BR800 with a Behringer condenser for vox and a dynamic for the guitar... added a touch of reverb on the guitar .... mastered with a tweaked version of the "acoustic" preset.
cheers

This is Legit, Geir!! Love it man - Beautiful guitar pickin' and singin'...and a storm?! It's perfect!
Sure am glad I came back to this place to hear what y'all have been up to....See my full reaction below:

nice cover... I hadn't heard much of your stuff but I came across "The Life of a Bubble." I liked all the main 4 versions. I thought they were all uniquely interesting. I was thinking your vocals in the lower register especially remind me of Mark Knopfler... that is pretty darn good.... I think I might have heard this song once or twice before...not much...nice job here and I heard Trevors version....I don't see why you couldn't also do a psyche cover.... oh well, this is great...
btw... I made a remix of the "Life of a Bubble" and it includes some of the vocals from yours, ORH, Launched and Saijinn.... I didn't know if you got to hear it? I know not everyone likes that sort of thing but I thought it was very cool.....
An excellent cover intimate vocal and beautifully picked guitar Bravo
An excellent version,I love the way the vocal jumps up to the higher register at around the 1 min mark.
Great to hear that vocal again.
Bravo.
I'm glad you didn't do a Fester as we wouldn't have heard this - beautiful :)
Power control and simplicity. Great version.
(I think you could've gone with "man" though and owned it. "Please don't take my man")
:)
A very powerful and emotional vocal delivery! Great use of volume modulation to keep the listeners attention!
Your fingerstyle and dynamic vocals on this really make it for me - great to see you back, Geir!
my oh my.
Damn it's good to hear you again brother!!!
That damn Jolene, steal husbands and now wives???WTF??
This is perfect in every way my friend, stunning.
Rock on!
An acoustic guitar and vocal works for me every time when it's done this well! It's good to hear you're recording again Geir.
Farrell
Beautifully done. This stripped down style is so effective. We get every small detail of that vocal and every note of that great bit of guitar backing. Great version Geir.
Mike
j'aime tout! la voix, la guitare, la chanson, le mix
Stunning version, Geir. Superb.
Paul.
Thanx for all the kind feedback my friends!! I really appreciate it !
It was about time I got back :)
I just had a weekend getting 3/5 of my old band together and I had prepared most of a song that has some 15/8 guitar over 4/4 bass and drum for the intro (for 7 1/2 4/4 measures :D). We actually managed to get it structured and made a rough recording (despite all the heavy water Akevitt) so we won't forget it until we meet again. And then it just get crazy after that. We were quite excited to get back together (the drummer is Jarle my brother, who also has been rather absent here lately) and are already thinking this must not stop here. So if it goes anywhere I'll keep you posted .
cheers

Wow, just love it Geir, one of my all time favourite numbers just got better, take a bow my friend... Alex
I got goosebumbps ! That's an awesome version, and I like the change of being singed by a man, good good take
I'm glad this got bumped so I didn't miss it.
I'm always happy to hear Geir singing with just an acoustic, but this one is exceptional. I love this song, I love performing this song, but the way you do it adds an extra gravity that is special. The vocal is absolutely stunning - understated but intense, and rises in the right places.
Absolutely incredible.
Wow great cover Geir.....so good man, so gad...what a vocal
Bump..... A well deserved bump.. Nice one Geir... Alex

It must be exciting to be playing with a group again. Do the extra neutrons in that liquor give it a special taste?
