If you could have only 1 guitar, which one would it be?

Oddly, enough I was considering the Andy Timmons AT300 as my electric choice here.

Id pick a Pre-war D45.  Knowing I couldnt afford it, but hey this is a crazy scenario (1 guitar).

On occasion Id slip a magnetic pup in the sound hole and jam electric.

Oh, I hadn't realised just how imaginary this scenario might be - I answered based on guitars I own...

If all bets are off, I'll have Rory Gallagher's battered 61 strat please - not the CS re-issue, I want Rory Gallagher's :D

I too was going down the 'currently owned' route. However, in a fantasy scenario there is but one heavenly treasure for me...

You would have to tangle with this guy to get it!  I was listening to RG this morning., "Against the Grain", what a fine album that one is!!! One of his best.  I LOVE Rory Gallagher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Nice choice Andy.

So how many times have you touched it BB? Three for me... and I didn't have to wear white gloves! It was only a "front-row touch the guitar when Rory offered it" scenario each time though.

Actually I nearly said "I'd want it repaired a bit though" - but looking at that pic, it's in a lot better state than when I last saw it :D Looks like they've restored it to it's late 70's early 80's glory (when I saw it last, in Rory's hands, the scratchplate was held on with gaffa, the bridge saddles were a mix of 2 or 3 types, there was a knob missing, and it looked like one of the pickups was about to fall out...)

Sweet story Andy.  I have never come anywhere near Rorys guitar or Rory himself.  Amazing story for sure.  Could you play your guitar better after touching RG's holy strat?  I bet that guitar could heal the sick!  I have to admit that I just got into RG 2 years ago, before that time I knew nothing about him I must sadly admit.  I have gone totally fanatical since that time and listen to his music constantly for the last 2 years.  He really was the best of the best.  Thanks for sharing that Andy.

I only discovered Rory a couple of years ago too. He's still criminally underrated considering how good he was. Not enough people rank him as one of the greatest guitarists ever, and there are too many people who haven't even heard of him.

What an experience, Andy. Those certainly are memories to be treasured! You lucky, lucky fella... lol

Hope this shows up clearly enough to be legible.
It's from a Fender Catalogue.
