As this forum's Montréal representation, I have to agree heartily with this comment.

I hadn't heard of a Godin 5th Avenue, so I checked them out online. They're pretty new from what I can tell. But they look like real classics. And I want one!!!!  :)

they had 3 all without the pickup
i would perfer a floating neck pos p-up like a Kent Armstrong or somethind similar
the one i played has a thin tone to it and a short scale
the top is cherry i think (solid)

Well for one of my older birthdays the wife bought me a Fender 72 Custom Telecaster. It was what I'd always dreamed of so she got me a mexican one in black which plays very well.  I just need to brush up on my playing skills to get the best out of it.

The only other guitar I'd fancy woulf be a Les Paul Black Beauty, very smart.

A '72 custom Tele... I'd love one of those! My white telecaster really is a work-horse of a guitar, and has appeared on almost all of my songs for the 4 years since I bought it. They are such versatile, comfortable, no-nonsense guitars. I'd never part with it now - it really is a 'lifer'.

Looking forward to hearing some tele twang from you on the 'post your work' threads!

I'd have an American Strat with a humbucking bridge pick-up.

Coupled with a versatile multi-effects pedal, it should cover most of the needs for mellow music, pop, blues, rock and metal.
