Microphones - large condensers

Hi I currently use a Behringer B-1 Single Diaphragm Condenser Microphone and a AKG C1000S Cardoid Condenser Microphone, which are both pretty good - but am looking for an uplift (I am a gear junkie). A friend of mine has a Rode Large Condenser  which seems to produce a better recording if the acoustic guitar, I wondering if there are any recommendations for particular mikes?
Cheers.

hopefully flash harry reads this and can give more info. we used the rode mic for vox and i am sure he used a "directional" (i think thats the term) to record tharek's acoustic guitar. i think pointed at the 12th fret. for the 1'st song don't mind the rain..

I have been looking at Blue microphones for a while. I went with the Blue Spark ($199 U.S.).

I have done a bit of research, and it was recommended for just about any application (including vocals and acoustic instruments). Haven't had time to play with it, but I'm unboxing it today.  I will report back and/or post something.

I also have a Rode NT1A and am very satisfied with it.  I have used it on the last half dozen of my songs for vocals.  I also recorded my banjo with it on my latest song and it came out very good, better than I expected.  Banjo's are very finicky to record usually.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Hey Bluesberry - that track was great - was there some fiddle in the background, I sounded like there was, or are my ears playing tricks on me?

That Rode recorded the banjo really well.

Hmm - thought I'd have a look around the local music store today, I was thinking Rode - and came out with a SE 2200T tube mike (doh!) - it has to be said that it is flippin lovely. Did a quick sample for you folks here - I'll leave it up for a few days before ripping it down - as its not a track and don't want to waste space. A simple experiment with an acoustic guitar. This is simple (crappy) drum machine, to keep time - 1 acoustic track, no EQ but a touch of reverb. The mike had the bass roll on. Closed miked pointing roughly to the neck join. I'm really happy with it!

* Taken down the original sample to save space *

Recorded this with the new mike, as an example https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=14562.0
