I got this banjo for Christmas, and finally got around to attempting a song with it.  I have been playing the hell out of it, trying to find out how to play the damn thing.  Bloody harder than guitar, thats for sure.  You can't just do what-ever like guitar and it sounds good.  You have to make a deal with the thing.  I have been playing around with the clawhammer style, and different tunings and this is what came out.  I dusted off my mandolin and C harp for the occasion.  It feels good to get something recorded finally.

Sounds great! That banjo's got really nice tone. Vocals sound even better than usual. Is that down to the BR-80's mics, or did you try something different in your micing technique or settings?

Wow! This is really something special, Dave.

Love the rhythm and tone you got from your banjo (and it sounds to me like you made a pretty good deal!) and how the mandolin and harmonica kick into it. With your vox on top, it all adds up to an excellent and honest-to-goodness, roots sounding song!
