Hey everyone. I'm pictoratus, pic for short, and just found this little website/community. As I'm just beginning to get into home recording, I figure this is the place for me to hang out, learn, and hopefully contribute.

Bluesberry

Hi pic, I stumbled in here a little over 2 years ago, just getting into the whole home-recording thing, and I can't get away...this little site is very addictive.  If you are just beginning to get into home recording you have definitely found the right place.  Lots of great folks, lots of great info, lots of great songs, lots of great musical styles...it is all here.  I look forward to hearing some of your music.  We are all home-recording, songwriting, singing, playing hobbyists around here.  Welcome aboard.

Thanks Bluesberry! After I poke around a bit to see where everything is and how it's all done, I'll put something up.

I've been playing less than a year on 6 string so I'm still learning although I played bass about 25 years ago in a couple of bands.

When I first found this place I had been playing guitar about a year.  Once I found this site, started recording myself (I started with a Boss microBR) and posting stuff on here I started advancing very quickly.  It is really a lot of fun to get something recorded and post it up and get some feedback, makes you want to keep at it more and more, I found.

Welcome to home recording Nirvana! I think you'll enjoy yourself here - all the tips and inspiration you'll need. And I agree with everything BB says.

Thanks Greeny. I think I have a lot to learn but I'm willing.  :)

There's always something to learn. This is my 3rd year here, and I'm still getting new tricks and tips from the masters of production, guitar and songwriting on this site.

A big welcome from Norway too !!

Like BB and Greeny said, you've found the right place to be. And you'll be amazed to see what great influence this little community will have on both your playing/singing and recordings. We're all amateurs, but learn a lot from eachother.

Welcome aboard Pic. I'm listening to your post while typing, and find it hard to believe you've only been on a 6 string for 6 months. You're a natural. Sure the bass helps, but not that much!

Thanks again for the welcome, guys!

Tony, it's been a bit longer than 6 months; another couple of months will be a year on 6 string. I don't know if playing bass way back when helped or not. Maybe a bit, but I sure felt lost when I first picked up a six string last March.
