I did everything in this one except the solos. If anyone cares to jump on that, feel free to do so.
I'm getting too old to play those blistering solos. Need young guns who are much faster.
Have at it.

And explain how you did it please! The bass is truly wonderful and I love the drums here. Great version, amazing instruments and really nice vocal.

I did find the vox a bit heavy on the mid frequencies, but I am listening on headphones, not monitors. You could try brightening the EQ on the vox a little to see if that makes them cut through a bit more. But it's a really great piece of work.

Cheers,

Thanks, Nigel.
Yes, the vocal is a bit strong in the mid-range. I experimented with a new preset with no mods to the settings. I haven't listened through speakers yet. Not connected. I'm using one of my laptops as I had a hard drive failure in my PC. Everything was backed up so no loss of data, fortunately. 101 gigs of it.
Something to be said for having three terabytes of storage space on the wireless network.
There are six computers in my home.

The tracks for Who Do You Love were recorded on the Boss eBand. Mixing was done using Adobe Audition.
I programmed the bass and drums on a Boss DR-880 drum machine, then sent its output into the eBand. From there that track also went into Audition for editing and synching into the mix.

The bass tone being played after the second verse and again at the ending of the song is a fretless bass preset in the drum machine. I modified it to fit.
Only a rhythm guitar track. No solo. I left that open for someone else to have fun with. Maybe you if you're so inclined.

The ending is still incomplete. I want to wait until a solo is put in, then fade the end out.

A bit of history on this song: It was originally done by Ellas Otha Bates. More commonly known by his stage name, Bo Diddley. He passed away in 2008.

Bluesberry, sell the wife and kids. Use the money for a drum machine and a new guitar.
Probably have enough left over for a hell of a good lobster and steak dinner.

Then move and leave no forwarding address.

Wow, that is pretty awesome bass and drum programming. Sounds excellent as well. That DR-880 is sounding pretty tempting........

Guitar solo? Sadly not me, I would only detract rather than add if I tried to solo here!

Cheers,

Nigel

I dig the drums and man, that bass is sweet in the instrumental sections.

Myself, I play lead guitar about as well as chimp with two broken fingers, so...  :D

Nigel, Cuthbert, don't let that stop you from giving it a go. The way to getting good at anything in life is
to always set higher goals for yourself and if other people get in your way, climb over their lifeless bodies.
