Phrase Trainer Question

Hi I have a quick question.

I just bought the Boss Micro BR and am waiting on it to be shipped. Just wondering a few things.

I have a Korg Pandora and the phrase trainer in that allows me to pick a part in a song to loop and keep practicing over like the solo section I can press the button once at the start of the phrase and then again at the end and it will loop that section for me - I have my ipod plugged into it via aux input so I do this real time.

I understand the Boss has this built in via mp3, so is it possible to select the start and end of the phrase you want to learn and then loop it  ? and if so can you also use the phrase trainer via aux input , ie plugging in my ipod to the boss.

I am not using the Pandora much these days as it only has a 8 sec phrase trainer and I wanted a all in one unit.

I think the answer is no, you can not do phrase training on external input.  I just copy the mp3 from my computer to the SD card and then use that in the micro.  You can set input/output points for phrases with the A/B button for whatever length you want and also set the speed.  I use the micro br for this and as a headphone amp more than for recording.
