Way cool new features 64!!

When your connecting across the pond to a sometimes sluggish site, every savings in screen refresh wait time is a BIG savings in my on-line time and lessens the "waiting" frustration factor.

A big enormous thank you from me!!

New features are waaaaaaayyyyyy cool. The only thing old henwrench would dig is like  a clock of some kind ...... I'm sure we used to have one.... I don't care what is selected as 'Meantime'... just some kinda focus would help....

I don't recall ever seeing a clock at Songcrafters. I think that's a job that's better suited to your operating system or web browser. There are plenty of clocks available for both.

Years ago when I used to use Windows (before I discovered how much better Linux is), I used a nifty little program called Desktop Sidebar. It offers lots of cool gadgets docked along the side of your screen. One of the standard gadgets is a nice, easy-to-read, analog clock (or digital, if you prefer).

http://www.desktopsidebar.com/

All of the gadgets are very configurable, so you can make them look however you like.

Here are some screenshots showing various configurations of Desktop Sidebar.

You can also get clock add-ons for your web browser. Here are some for Firefox:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=clock&cat=all&lver=any&pid=1&sort=&pp=20&lup=&advanced=

If you want a clock so that you can limit the amount of time you spend on the site, I recently saw a program or add-on that would let you define your total allowed time per day for any site and it would automatically block the site once you'd used up all your time for the day. So, for example, you could set your daily limit to, say, 2 hours. After your total time on the site reaches 2 hours, you won't be able to access the site again until the next day. I don't remember where I saw it but, if I find it again, I'll let you know. Meanwhile, here's a TimeTracker add-on for Firefox that might help:

No, dude! When I first joined this fantastic site there was definatly a 'central' clock, so when i posted a post at xx:xx time, one could figure when posts had been posted, 'cos at the top of the home page there was definately a clock, (even if it was some obscure Yankee Time) I couldn't give a frickerty frick how long I've been messin' around on this site I call 'home', (but I'm sure all who reside in henwrench Towers do!!!  ;D ;D ;D).

Hmmm. I don't recall seeing the time displayed on the home page, but I am getting very forgetful in my old age. :)  I'll look into it. As for post times, you can control that from your profile.

https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=profile;sa=theme

Just set the Time Offset so that all times shown on the site will be in your local time. I believe the "Current forum time" displayed below the Time Offset field is 8 hours behind GMT. So most U.K. members should put an "8" in the Time Offset field.

I like the new navigation system. It is very good!

The administration has been doing a great work.  ;)

You're right! I found a screenshot of the old BossBR site from December 2009 and the page header included the date and time on the top line.

Date and time are now displayed in the page header under the BeatlesFest graphic. It doesn't update continuously though. It only updates when you reload the page. But that's how it was before too. I just copied the old code which I found commented out.
