Recording two things at the same time.....

Hi There - just a quick question. I am using the BR at the moment to rehearse a set list. I have the mp3's on the BR and I am playing along through the BR. I wondered if this was possible feeding a mp3 track into the line in socket rather than having it on the BR - so the BR is acting as a mixer in effect. I know this is possible using the built in mic and i am fairly sure its not possible to record with guitar and line in simultaneously but i wanted to see if there was any solution amongst the members on the forum. Thanks !

Hello there petercoggeshallevans and welcome to the forum!  8)

Well its only possible to record the Guitar and Built in Mic combination because they are the only mono sources. Line IN and External Mic (the same input) are stereo. One way you could do it is get a Jack to Stereo RCA like this:

And then get two adapters from RCA to jack mono:

You would then connect the adapters to the RCAs and then one to the guitar and another two the MP3 source. This is most likely to sound bad because of the different guitar and line in inpedance and the mono recording of the MP3. But its a way.

Importing the MP3 to one of the tracks is far better.
