this one was done pretty quickly using the onboard mic.
written and performed by oldrottenhead on an ikea childs £10.00 guitar.
Quoteno point in pretending
it wont go away
like a monkey on your shoulder
its here to stay

you know you cant just run away
an actor moves to centre stage
the words are written on the page
and you dont know which part to play

whats the point in burning effigies
if they wont go up on the fire
lets pour more petrol on your bleeding wounds
and build a bigger funeral pyre

you know you cant just run away
an actor moves to centre stage
the words are written on the page
and you dont know which part to play
a man at the back
shouts
anarchy
the house erupts
the lion roars
they are queueing up to eat the canapes
and someones  shouting out for more

Stagefright! Yep been there with all those crazy butterflies churning a whole in my gut. This is really cool ORH. It has a edgy mysterious, dark vibe yet smooth and serene. Nice!

Ikea?  -I thought they only made furniture  ???

Gret tune ORH, I love the stripped-down raw sound. That guitar sounds pretty good. I like how you got a "monkey" line in there for Geir too!

Sweet!!
It ain't pretty being easy.

Very good vocals and at the very beginning it sounded like a child's guitar but once you started singing it fit perfectly.

OMG this is flipping good Jim, really really good.  You need to write more with an acoustic guitar.  Fantastic.  That guitar is raw and edgy, your vocals sublime.  My son is listening and he just said "that sounds like the guy who does Shock The Monkey".  Hahaha, he is right about that.  It has that kinda Daniel Johnston acoustic strumming which is very good and anchors the song well.  Did you strum and sing at the same time?  I really like the raw fragility of this song, well done indeed.

i tried first time singing and strumming but couldnt get a balanced level between vox and guitar, thats a new learning curve i see ahead,  so i recorded guitar to 2 tracks via onboard mic then panned left and right with slightly different reverb then sang onto track 3.
had a go on a 6 string at work today and impressed my colleagues, i need a an acoustic mrs h aint gonna be happy when i put in my request slip.

love the singing, it must those scottish tones, still reminds me of SAHB which i loved.  Just bought a micro MBR and recorded myself.  I sounded like a wiltshire bumpkin on a tractor with a wiltshire lisp eating my pork pie.  So i don't think i will be posting any vocals, just post the music and leave the vox (that's what you call it i noticed) on the collaboration board.  Give me time to get my head around the sodding thing then you can give some of mine a go if you like them.
