Quote from: oldrottenhead on March 18, 2010, 05:31:43 AMi think we should either make the tribute fest a permanent festival or certainly extend it as it began slap bang in the middle of the changes at the site so we are not getting a full month to do tributes.

It's already permanent in a sense because people are welcome to post covers of other members' songs anytime, not just during the TributeFest. And I'll be happy to add new posts to the jukebox long after the festival ends. What makes it a festival is that, for this month, we all focus on the idea of covering each other's original songs. Next month, we change our focus to a different topic. But covers of other members' songs will continue to be welcome.

You make a good point though about the site changes having a negative impact on the festival. We've only got 12 songs so far and 5 of those are older posts from before the festival. I thought this festival would be even more popular than the unplugged fest because so many people seemed to be excited about the idea of covering each other's songs. I don't know if the site changes quelled that excitement or if there are a bunch of great covers in the works that will be posted in the next two weeks. But we've got a long, long way to go to match the unplugged fest's 82 songs! If interest picks up toward the end of the fest, we could extend it for another week or two to make up for the interruption of the site changes. If not, then I think we'll just carry on with the next fest on April 1 but continue to accept tribute covers and add them to the TributeFest jukebox throughout the year.

Beautiful performance and production of a Greeny song I somehow hadn't heard before - great job, hooper!

Absolutely love how you got a 'Rain' refrain in there.  :)

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

I try to listen to everything Ken does. Always a delight.

On this day *BUMP*

It's a year on, and I still haven't recovered from the thrill of what Hooper did with this. The man's a friggin' genius.
