this tune has to be played from about 56 seconds in!

I tried deleting the first part of the recording when i was mastering it, but failed and ended up deleting tracks incorrectly.  does anyone know how to delete all tracks of a song ie song lasts for 3 mins 43 secs, i am trying to delete from 0 secs to 1 min 20 secs?

help appreciated!

if your using the micro BR you need to move each track (exatly the same) ie:

from measure X at 1:20 (to end of song measure) to measure 000.00 or (000.02 to give a bit of "air" before it starts).

* it can be done with time or measue but I find measure to be easier to deal with precisely.

First of all I really like the track.  Secondly Sandy's advice regarding moving tracks is the way to go but if you have any problems I have re-edited your song in Reaper and will post it for you if you like.

First of all, you don't want to trim all of the individual tracks. That's too much work. Instead, master your tracks as you normally would anyway, and take note of the destination track pair. Then use the Track Move feature to move the start of the song (00:01:20) on the two destination tracks back to the beginning (0:00:00).

For example, let's assume that your mastering destination tracks were Tr34v8. Follow the directions for Moving Data on page 55 and 56 of the Micro BR manual. At step 3, set the source and destination tracks to Tr34v8. The screen should look like this:

TR34-V8->TR34V8
|TIM|MEA|ALL|AB

Press the TR1 button to select TIM (time). The screen will look like this:

St 00:00:00-00.0
           |NEXT

This is the current time of the desired start position in the song. Use the CURSOR buttons and VALUE -/+ buttons to change it to 00:01:20-00.0 (assuming that's where your song starts). Then press the TR4 button (NEXT).

The "St" in the display changes to "En", indicating that you will now be setting the time at which your song ends. The easy way to set the end time is to hold down the STOP button and press the >> (Fast Forward) button. Again, press the TR4 button (NEXT).

The "En" in the display changes to "To", indicating that you will now be setting the time to which you want to move the start of the song. Make sure it's set to 00:00:00-00.0. Press the TR4 button (EXE) to execute the specified Track Move operation.

That's it! Your mastered song should now start playing from 00:00:00-00.0.

Another way to achieve the same thing is to export your mastered song as a stereo WAV file. Then import the WAV file into Audacity or some similar wave editing program. Then you can easily trim the ends of your song because you can see the actual waveform, including the blank ends that you want to remove. Just mark the section you want to remove and press the Delete key.

The Audacity method is easiest, but it's best to be comfortable with both methods. You won't always have access to a computer with Audacity on it when you want to trim your song.

Mike,

Ye that will be great if you could re-edit - perhaps even stick a bass line in there.  Thanks to yourself and all the others who have helped - cheers
