My son likes AIC (Alice in Chains) so I thought I'd do a cover for him.  It's just a rough draft and needs some work, so please feel free to comment on how I can improve this.  I'm currently using a lame backing track to capture the percussion - I probably will re-do this myself...

i recorded 2 separate tracks of rhythm guitar (panned L and R about 30)
Also recorded a solo track
and then 2 vocal tracks (the second one boosts the ohhhh parts)

I definitely want to shorten the intro and fix some of the timing on my vox...a bit off...need more practice.

We - chase misprinted lies
We - face the path of time
And yet I fight
And yet I fight
This battle all alone
No one to cry to
No place to call home

Oooh... Oooh...
Oooh... Oooh...

My  - gift of self is raped
My  - privacy is raked
And yet I find
And yet I find
Repeating in my head
If I can't be my own
I'd feel better dead

Oooh... Oooh...
Oooh... Oooh...

Hey Satch this is pretty good!!.  Might be a lame backer, but you made it your own.  You don't sing much and you should do more!!  Just like playing the more you sing the better you will get!!  Will have to keep an eye on this one as it progresses!  ;)  Nice song!!

One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands, you did a great job at making your own unique version and not just doing a carbon copy.

Really good cover, Tommy!!! Was it you or who made another AIC cover a few months, ago...? Can't remember..

I like your voice - very good to this one, too. And the guitars are great - both rhythm and solo gtr. Your son can be proud of his father!! A good work again!!

Oh man, that was great... did u ever think of recording some nirvana songs? I think your voice will suite the music very well, just as it did with AIC.
