one of my goals this next year is to start recording more on my BR but have a couple questions

1. i have thought of getting a mixer to run a mic thru so i can record drums , amp, vocals easier..i have thought of a 2 or 4 track mixer...does any one have any advice on a setup like this ...any pro or cons.

2. any ideas on set the br up on a stand or something. everytime i try to record acoustic if i set on my knee it falls off ..if i set it on a table it lays flat and may not pick it up well..when i do vocals i perfer to get into it a little and thats hard to do when you got hold the thing while you sing. any suggestions??

I have a little bit of room set aside where I record so any kind of setup advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I use a miniature music holder (which is only a little bigger than the MicroBR itself) on a microphone stand for when I'm recording guitar and other acoustic instruments, and the angle as well as the height can be adjusted - I find it indispensable.

I modified the holder a bit with some self-sticking foam attached to it to keep the MicroBR from sliding too freely.

That is a great idea. I've only just started using mine in the last coupla weeks and I've been sticking it to the table in front of me with a chunk of blu-tack.
Frustration is my middle name.

For your mixer question I picked up a little Yamaha MG82cx.
It lets me plug in my shure sm58 & sm57 mics and a dvd/cd player at the same time then send the output to the MBR. On playback MBR sends its output back to the mixer which just  routes it to headphones for now.

I can also plug both my Strat and acoustic (has a preamp in it) directly into the mixer as well.

Disadvantage is there is more kit to cart around and a lot more wires on the table.

It seems to work well, I just need to manage to record something decent using it.
