Backup User Patches

Why Oh Why Oh Why
Can't you backup user patches?
The only way seems to be to create a new song copy, all the user patches to song patches, then backup the song.
To reconstruct, you have to restore the backup song & then copy all the song patches to user patches.  :o

I lost all my user patches recently, after getting the infamous Card Busy.
I stupidly thought the cure to this would be to backup the entire card, initialise everything (yes, I know that was the wrong move now) & then restore the backup.

Eh Err (nasty buzzer sound). After restoring, I had everything but my user patches.  >:(

Oh well, now I'll have to spend another night twiddling the knobs on the BR-600 to recreate all my default guitar & bass sounds.   :'(

GJK - I haven't got the 600, but I find it hard to believe that you can't save the user patches? Are we talking about guitar patches etc that you've modified from a existing one? I thought once you've created a sound you want to save, you then save it to one of the, however many, User patch spaces there are. Hope you solve this one.

Sorry mate. When I say Save ...  really mean Backup.

Please excuse my literary ignorance ... I'm from Norfolk  :-[
I'll try & change the post to reflect.

Backup: create a COPY of an EXISTING configuration to fall  back on if your device goes crazy
Save: store the MODIFICATIONS you made into the BR. If the device or the CF card goes crazy, all modifications may be lost
