I'm starting to think that I may be better off starting with this Boss unit. I like the sounds of some of the mp3's I've heard on here. My one question is....is it difficult to usb out your song to a pc and burn it to a cd? I have windows Vista. If this is not difficult to do, I will probably get this unit.

Hi rdg,

It is easy to usb to the computer, but I usually just pop out the memory card and put it in my computer. It's a lot faster. You can buy a cheap card reader if your computer isn't equipped with one.

As for Vista - One problem is that I can't seem to get BR Explorer to work with my Vista 64bit OS which kind of sucks.

The BR Wave Convertor and BR Rhythm Editor work with no problems.

One thing to watch out for, is that there seems to be quite a few instances of the BR600 internal mics malfunctioning for some of us. You can search this site for "internal mic hum" and it should bring up some info.

Over all I am quite happy with my BR600. It has faders, which are nice, and the ability to import rhythm arrangements using the Boss BR Rhythm Editor which is a lot better than using the small BR600 screen to program drum patterns. I also prefer not having to bounce a lot of tracks (because I'm not very good at it), so that is what I would say is a big advantage over the Micro.

I have never used a Micro BR or any of the other "higher" models, so I really don't have anything to compare it to.

I'd say go for it. It's a good unit. You can get very good results with very little skill.  ;D

Hi and Welcome
Its horses for courses
If portability and ease of use is important Id go for a MicroBR
I have both and use the MBR for everything except complicated songs
Havin said that there are some amazin MBR songs
But you need to get one or the other
you will not regret it!

Tangled Wires

I damaged my Micro BR recently and was contimplating whether to replace it with another one or to spend the money on upgrading to one of the other BR units.

I decided to stick with the Micro BR for the reasons of cost, portability and the quality of it.

As 48 has said, the MBR is capable of producing amazing results once you get to grips with it.

I would feel incredibly restricted on an MBR.
Especially the Data/value wheel on the 600 is priceless... when it works (recently, it started to play up which is extremely frustrating... the value jumps all over the place)
