Ted, your suggestion sounds good--I'll try a Y-cable to the line in. I also saw your earlier suggestion about using a stereo mixer for this. Which option have you used?

I use a y-adapter when I want to record two things at once to separate tracks.  I've never recorded voice and guitar simultaneously to separate tracks. Although did essentially the necessary setup when I recorded my guitar simultaneously with a mic and through the pickup, each to different channels so I could blend the farty sound from the saddle transducer with the natural sound from mic (here).  More typically I use the y-adapter to recorded the L and R channels out of a stereo chorus pedal to two separate tracks (here and here). 

I could imagine using a mixer if my needs got more complex, but that's not currently a GAS symptom of mine.
