Can I import just one channel of a stereo backing track?

Hi new micro BR user here, thanks for the wonderful tutorial.

I have some stereo lesson tracks with backing on the Lch and demo lead part on the Rch. Is that a way to just import the Lch into the micro BR so that I can play over it without hearing the Rch?

Thanks a lot! :)

Welcome to the Forum.
I'm sure this can be done fairly easily in a free program called Audacity though I have never tried it.

I'm assuming that you are starting with an MP3 file. Export it as a WAV file, then delete the lead channel. Convert it back to MP3 and you should have a clean backer.

Hopefully one of the smart people on the site will chime in on this.

I see that 64 Guitars chimed in already, I would try his advice first. He is our resident genius. ;D

Although there are several ways to remove one channel from a stereo backing track, there's really no need to do so. Instead, just import the stereo backing track normally, panning the odd-numbered track full left (L50) and the even-numbered track full right (R50), then reduce the level of the unwanted track to minimum so you don't hear it in the playback.

For detailed info on importing a backing track, see this page:

And see page 33 of the Micro BR manual for a description of "Adjusting the volume of a track".
