Quick Introduction - Flying the Flag for the Middle Aged!

Hi to anyone reading this message.  I discovered this site by chance last night, when I found the answer to my rythm/tempo problem.  I'm now a happy bunny!

I'm a novice guitar and keyboard player who has just turned 50!  My teenage son and dear wife, think I am a sad middle aged rocker - I want to prove them wrong, by writing and playing some of my own material and hopefully play live later this year (in celebration of my 50th!).

I've just started using the Boss Micro BR, which is great fun - I have a lot to learn.  I hope it will provide the template for lots of ideas for the future.

I listen to and play hard/heavy rock, influenced by Dream Theatre and Porcupine Tree - I believe Steve Wilson (PT) is a great role model for musicians.  My main guitar is a Yamaha AES 620 (which rocks) and I have a GEM Equinox Pro keyboard.  I hope to upload some original material in the near future.

I'm looking forward to sharing ideas with the community. :D

Not sure why, but Boss recorders seem to be very popular with middle-age men. See this site's age poll here and add your own age to it:

https://songcrafters.org/community/off-topic/how-old-are-you/0/

Of the 26 people who have participated in the poll so far (what's up with the rest of you?  ???), about 27% are 50 or older.

I started a similar poll in the Yahoo BossBr group in January:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BossBr/surveys?id=2317542

Of the 71 members who replied, 33 members (46%) are 50 or older. About the same number are between 30 and 49. And only 4 members are under 30!

Never to old to rock and roll. I'm 55 now and making some pocket change in the clubs around Kansas City playing stuff like You Shook Me, and Stranglehold. Play all the music you can, while you can. Keep On Rockin',  Bryant

Good. Maybe the next Boss will take note and the next generation of the Micro BR will have bigger buttons on it!   8)

Interesting demographic though... I would have expected a younger following for this machine.

These days I just dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Yes it's a strange group for sure  :D
I needed to get back to a hardware piece of gear I guess

(bigger buttons even a slider to)
I get bored with using  PC's -they suck the creative juice right out of me, especially when pc hardware and software collide.
