How to use guitar input (and effects) while using external mic input (& effects)

i've looked at this for so long, i'm even more confused than when i started.  time to ask for your micro br expert help:

i'm using my micro br as an effects processor for my guitar.  basically i input through the mbr 1/4" guitar jack and tweak (guitar input effects) to get tones that i like coming out through my amp.  i know that i can go back and record vocals on a separate track using mbr effects too.

what i can't figure out is how do i:

play guitar through the mbr while using the guitar input effects and at the same time sing into my external microphone which is also plugged into the mbr external mic/line input.  i want to play and sing and apply different insert effects to the guitar and vocals in a single "take" (like performing live).

can anybody help me figure out how to do this?  with only the mbr ideally or what do i need and how do i do this with other gear in addition to my mbr?

I'm thinking the main problem is only one set of FX can be used at once.
IOW you would need two MBR's to do what you want but considering it would be a lot cheaper than any other alternative it might be a good idea.

the mbr wont let you use the line in and guitar in simultaneously-
you can use an external mixer to the line in to achieve this-panned hard right and left if you like-
you would have to record a stereo track in order to separate them
