Still getting nowhere on #5, and I am sure I am going to kick myself once someone says what it is....

Think supergroup--but not necessarily the virtuoso type of supergroup.

I can't think of any other hints that don't give up too much.

Okay: It's not Asia.  ;D

Maybe I shouldn't be giving hints without 64G's permission.

Number 5 sounds Dave Masony to me.  Would the supergroup be Traffic by any chance?

Maybe you should put me out of my misery and then post one yourself :)

Okay. Since everyone's having a hard time with 64G-05, here are some clues:

  • As Ted said, it was done by a supergroup (ie; famous musicians from other bands who got together)
  • The guitar intro was done by a Beatle on the original
  • Very popular about 1989

Unfortunately, the intro is partly missing in this YouTube video. But it's repeated at the end (about 3:06 in the video).

There's a better video here:

It starts with some comments from the band about Roy's death, and the complete video follows.

Phew....

Thanks for the hint, I am soooo glad it finally clicked, I would have been mortified to fail on that one, lol!!!!

Will get something done tomorrow if I can find time (Have to paint the hall and stairs I papered today, then give three one hour guitar lessons ... busy busy busy)
