The first song I've made with my new guitar*

There are four guitar tracks, three clean, one distorted, all through mic'd amplifier. And GB drums, P bass and keyboard.

Verse three is metaphoric but based on events that were unfolding at the time I was writing this song. My daughter 'lost' (possibly threw in rage - we never quite got to the bottom of what happened) her iPhone into a dense bramble bush whilst out playing with her friend.  We spent many hours hacking into said bush but didn't ever find it.

Nothing Left

There's nothing left
You can clear it all away
If I could get the check
Thanks, no coffee today
Can I just pay
Be on my way
And yes
Everything was okay...

—-

...I'm bereft
You blew my world apart
There's nothing left
the void inside my heart
What can I say?
You went away
And no,
I'm actually not okay...

—-

There's nothing left
You threw it in the thorns
I looked and looked
But now I'm scarred and torn
Through the rain
And through the pain
And, no,
I'm really not okay...

*I know, right. I've wanted a Jazzmaster for ages, I finally got one. It's a Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster in Vintage White. It sounds great.

wow this is awesome man!  I really love the way this is put together... the clean vs. the distorted guitars, the vocal down low and the effect..
I think though as great as the music is the lyrics are deep and intense, defo fits the music...

this might be your best work to date imo, that I have heard.  A really hi mark here...

original, artistic, emotional, soulful, deep, mesmerizing, intense

F#$% yes! More songs like this please!!! Awesome grungey psychedelic sound here and those chord progressions are stellar. It's a very unique track you've made here, the closest thing I can say it sounds like is possibly MGMT (their most recent album has a bit of that melancholic pysch sound in the second half). I really dig this!

Oh no! ODH! Don't talk about Jazzmasters. I've been eyeing a few lately and i don't NEED, or DESERVE more guitars. I already have all the keepers and i don't feel like thinning the herd.

I do think offset guitars suit you. As you're clearly a noncomformist punk rocker at heart. Or maybe you're more into comfort being _almost_ a proper adult. BUT yeah, i think you got the point.

So how's the guitar treating you? From the sounds of it... It serves you well. Is there a Rams Head Big Muff on the horizon too?

The only thing i don't like with the JM jazzmasters is the pickguard. I know that's one of the main reasons some people do, but for me... I dunno.

The playing has such a floaty psychedelic feel that i feel like i'm losing the plot while writing this. I'm enjoying the sounds, i'm thinking of the guitar and i hear your voice singing stuff, but i can't comprehend whats happening.

Still i feel there's nothing left and i'm ok. A great one ODH.

That's how I was too, but I couldn't shift the GAS. I thought I was going up to five, but it's actually six, five in the four-space rack and the HB Les Paul leant against the wall. Plan was to rationalise, but...

I get what you say about the pick-guard,  it's a taste I haven't really acquired yet myself.

How do you like the neck? It's supposed to be heavenly. I know professional players who've bought it only because of that neck.

It has a lovely satin feel and is nice to play. Tuning stability is good also (although I don't have the whammy bar fitted). It's an interesting comparison with my Squier Supersonic, which is a shorter scale and so has lower tension and 'bendier' strings.  The two guitars have very different characters. The Jazzmaster wants to spend an evening discussing higher concepts but the supersonic just wants to get you drunk and in trouble.

The new Jazzmaster looks and sounds great Nick! I like white guitars and the jazzmaster shape. This is a lovely song with all it's glorious moodiness. The blend of dirty and clean guitars comes across super. Your low range, mellow vocals fits the music perfectly...nicely done...did I say I love your new guitar?
