I downloaded the Spitfire discover app https://www.spitfireaudio.com/bbc-symphony-orchestra-discover which is free, which allows you to try and compose it fits into any DAW as a plug in Chapperz put me on to it and after playing around with it i've given myself tremendous GAS for more instruments anyway heres the demo a bit of fun from Reg the apprentice conductor....

Ah - now you know how I do it!

Actually I should be arrested for dealing in dangerously addictive substances.  Some people think effects pedal GAS is expensive.  No.  Software orchestral instruments are the real hardcore stuff. And Spitfire are the suppliers with the best gear - and the best marketing - around.

Seriously , BBC discover is a great free sample library and everybody should grab it.  If you want to get any more check to see if it runs in the Spitfire player or if you need Kontakt Player.  Kontakt Player is also free but sorting out the routing in your DAW can be a bit of a bind.  It's fine once you get your head round it but getting to that point took me a while.

Both your demos sound mighty fine!  Don't forget to use your mod wheel expression on long notes.  And any other CC midi controls - I can't remember what Discover has.  They all add to the realism.

Both those demos are very nicely done, Trev. It sounds like Paul has created a monster! LOL

Orchestral compositions are always fun to do and it makes you realise how technology has advanced to allow us to delve into this genre. Imagine living in the 18th or 19th century and having to write all their stuff on manuscript by hand, usually with a quill and by candlelight.
