About 6 years ago I produced an instrumental version of this piece.  Nick recently suggested we could do a new vocal version. I didn't take much convincing  :) .  I  completely remixed it, took out some of my guitar widdling, added in Nick's unique vocal and we are both really pleased with the result.

At about 3.5 minutes it is one of our shortest songs.  That can't be a bad thing.

I'm not sure how to define it but who needs labels?

If you are sufficiently interested you can hear a wav version here:

gee... this is amazing!  David Bowie is raised from the dead for certain parts of this... but this shows just how amazing and versatile Nick's vocals can be... I think the whole thing wreaks of superb talent.... this is not something though to be captured by the masses...NO... this is an acquired taste of only certain kinds of musical tasted... kind of like very very expensive bottles of wine.  A price of 2000 dollars a bottle is required, deserved, and then some.  The uncultured cannot see the value and ask for a sample at which the barkeep says "that will be 50 dollars please".... at which they turn and run.

however the cultured pony up and say... I will pay you 3000 for the bottle.

the drink never ends...

Great sound that kicks this song off; kinda Mick Ronson guitar riffs and fantastic Bowie-esque vocal with an eerie vibe. Excellent writing and production - so complex yet everything working brilliantly. Jeez.

Paul and Nick, it's cool to hear you're putting your progressive influences on full display here! Excellent Bowie-esque vocals, Nick and super guitar, Paul!

Man, what a killer riff! I definitely see the Bowie comparisons people are saying, great vocals Pipes. Also kinda reminds me of a Mike Patton type track. Wicked stuff!

Mike_S

Well this suits vocals to a tee. Nicks vocals are great and mixed perfectly into the production. Some great quirky additions but blended into a wonderfully listenable bit of prog. Bring it on!

And a download from me... thank you guys.

those vocals from 2:10 to 2:40!  first off... this is a fantastic track... but the vocals are whoa... I saw Queensryche, Sabaton, and Judas Priest in the last two weeks.... these vocals are as good as any of those... and this whole track kicks ass Paul....

also this tickles me and I laugh in spots on this... so much great ness....

I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.
