It slowly dawned on me that I didn't know anything about Donovan so I spent a while on Apple Music listening to his stuff. First there were more tracks I knew that I thought I did (in my head it was only Mellow Yellow) and second I actually really like ("dig") a lot of what I heard.

This is one I'd not heard before. This is as faithful as I could get it. It's an upbeat lyric with a gloomy backer, right up my street. The song has an unusual structure and has a lot of jazz stylings (also right up my street). It's from the Hurdy Gurdy album.

Here we have acoustic guitar, drums and double bass off of GarageBand and saxophone from ThumbJam (which was a challenge, I'm not gonna lie).

It's called Get Thy Bearings although he never uses the word Thy in the song.

Belle reprise,
Donovan developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelic rock and world music.
I really like the jazzy Donovan (I covered Sunny Goodge Street)
I would have liked to do that one too...but you did it very well.
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Don't know this one but it sounds real good... I like the bass sounds and the winds... a cool vibe you did here.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

When this started playing I was thinking wow that is moody/dark and very cool. Very well done Nick and I will have to start thinking about this fest at some point. You have shown the merits of Donovan here very well.
