The bad thing about making music using your phone is that things change without warning leaving you high and dry.

I did an iOS update and then my Apogee Jam interface didn't work anymore so no guitar. No explanation.

Point is I couldn't put a guitar on this track. Which actually kind of worked out okay to be fair as I love how that organ sounds; don't think I could have got that feel with a guitar anyway.

This started on the weekend when I heard a track on 6 Music and I found myself singing the In Crowd to it (I'm ashamed to say I don't know what song it was). So I set about trying to recreate what I heard in my head. And I got pretty close I think.

DM-1 drums with GarageBand organ and bass, several vocal tracks and some ambient crowd sounds that I recorded at a gig earlier in the year.

Excellent cover, Nick! I do remember Bryan Ferry's version of this - I got Another Time, Another Place during my initial infatuation with Roxy Music, back when I was all of 17 years old. I especially like that you went with the backing vocals as well, which were not on the original release of the song by Dobie Gray, as I recall.

Sorry to see the interface to your phone is no longer working, though - but it turned out great even without guitar on it.

Hi ODH,
I love the drums and the vocals.  So fun.
This song is a very happy and jolly tune, and you made it your own.
Love this recording.

Very hypnotic I'm not familiar with the original but this has s Tomorrow Never Knows feel to the groove. I love your vocals, you have done some KILLER covers Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry abd this one is no exception.

I don't know the original, I like the editing you did here with the drums/organ and the light echo of the main voice...it sounds like a 70's revival
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I hear you loud and clear about the problems of software and making music. I actually have given up purchasing guitar plug-ins because of problems like these. I purchased Waves software which was pretty good a few years back but it repeatedly asked to confirm licence details more times than it was worth. And then I bought a guitar midi software which was great but similar to you stopped working after an update of some kind... SO SORRY I HAD TO GET THAT OUT... back to the song... I do like this tune. I think it has worked out well without guitar as those keys are super cool  8)  You put down some great vocals but also a nod to that great drum programming... loving those ride cymbal hits.

I'm not sure I would have missed the guitars had you not pointed their absence out. Seriously, this works very well. If I were you I'd claim artistic interpretation and forget the whole technology didn't work thing. Cool take.
