This is the third and last part of the song Rockcollection

I don't know if it can be added to the Festival song 77, because the period of this festival is outdated..but as it follows the Rockcollection PART 1 AND PART 2, maybe the administrators can do it

Anyway I would try to group the 3 parts to make only one to govern them all (it reminds me the Lord of the Rings :)

The technical problem is that as the song is long it's more than 7 MB

PS I tried to reproduce the "dirty" sound we had in the 60's, the final part reminds me a bit the sound of the KINKS at their beginning ;D

Reminder : the song ROCKCOLLECTION is indeed a song of the year 77...but it refers to the songs that the teenagers (including me) listened to ..in the years 65-66

Quand Donovan chantait

California dreaming

In the spring of 66 I fell madly in love
It hurt me rather badly I had water in my eyes
My little doll I'm taking you to the land of my
Tongues
I'm not sure what to do with you, but I'm not sure what to do with you, I'm not sure what to do with you
All night long we loved each other
When Donovan sang
I'm not sure what to do with you, but I'm sure you'll be happy to know that you're here.
Mellow Yellow

Now I've got a guitar and I travel organized
I get up too late every day
And I live in the Champs-Elysées
I'm gone I don't know where but not where I want to go
In my head there are holes I can't remember the s
There are dreams that are broken
I've got to get out of here, I've got to get out of here
Things that still stick to my heart and body
California dreaming

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

This is a lot of fun with a touch of madness. I like the retro "dirty" sound.

All three parts you've done are really cool. It must have been challenging to splice all those different interludes together. Also, the whole thing is an interesting idea - I read on Wikipedia:

"The song is a nostalgic first-person recollection of what is presented as a typical 1960s French adolescence. While the story is sung in French, several English-language hits of the 1960s are used to illustrate the memories. ...The single was an international success, reaching the Top 10 in several countries in 1977/1978."

It it a cool idea that a musician in a certain country, such as France, could compose a song in French (to appeal to French listeners) but insert references to big worldwide hits in another language (English).

Thanks for introducing me to this!

Now I'm wondering it I can sing Sloop John B in French (after using Google translate)  ::)
(in fact the song is based on an old folk song from the Bahamas, and I read one of the languages spoken there is "French-based Creole")

It is exactly that! ... you cannot imagine the impact that had the Anglo Saxon music (American first in the years 55/65 and English then) on the teenagers in France and elsewhere and the most astonishing it is that we did not understand the words, it is the music which hung us and in the groups of young musicians of the time one made covers by singing the words in "yoghourt" it is ç to say a phonetic imitations of the original words  :D  :D  :D

You had a lot of fun doing this and it comes through JP. That's a pretty ambitious project and the whole thing would be a lot of fun to see live but I am sure that would not be easy.

Excellent job JP once again on these Rock collections. They are certainly fun to listen to!

what I find fascinating is your use of vocal effects.  You are getting very skilled at pulling interesting things from your ever expanding effect tool box.  Yes... this does have that kind of early UK vibe like the Kinks, the Who etc.  early Who sounded nothing like later Who and The Kinks (who I was never crazy about their recordings) rocked live.  I saw the Kinks at the first US festival in San Bernadino, CA. in 1982.  There were 250,000 people there.  I was never crazy about the Kinks.  But live they blew the doors off the place.  I was thinking that whoever produced their recordings completely missed the real Kinks...
sorry about the rant.
awesome job on this song JP..

indeed in this song I put a chain of effect which modifies drastically the sound!
-Ozone 9 Element from Izotope(it's free!)
-Abbey Road Plate by Waves
-Vocal doubler from Voxengo (free)
-M Stereo expander from Melda Production (free)
-Voxformer by Voxengo (free)

Waves are excellent, unfortunately not free
